Just as natural seasons change, so do seasons in God. I believe one specific purpose the Lord has for the season in which we currently find ourselves is to build trust. Were in a trust-building season. This season is a two-sided coin. Its a time for us to trust the Lord more, but its also a time when He wants to trust us more.
Now is a time when the Lord wants us to increase our trust in Him and to trust Him in new ways. Since its difficult to trust someone we dont know, one way the Father is building our trust is by revealing Himself in new ways. He wants us to catch fresh glimpses of who He is and to grow in our understanding of who He is.
What aspect of God’s character is He longing for you to embrace? Ask the Holy Spirit what aspect of the nature of God He wants you to realize in this season. Your trust will naturally deepen as you realize who He really is!
The other side of the trust-building coin is that God wants to trust us more. I believe He wants to trust us in three specific ways. One, He wants to trust us with revelation. He wants to give us fresh “downloads” from heaven about our families, businesses and finances. Two, He wants to trust us with relationships. He longs to bring us strategic connections that will further His purposes in our lives. Three, He wants to trust us with resources. These resources include our time, our talents and our treasures. The Lord is calling us to steward the resources He has given us for His purposes so be prepared to hear Him speak about new strategies that will be more effective and fruitful in the New Year.
I encouraged you to stay focused on the area the Holy Spirit is building trust in your life. There is an aspect of the Father’s nature you need to personally embrace and there are areas He wants you to handle differently so that He can trust you more. With all the uncertainly in life, there is no uncertainty that the Father is very actively pursuing you with His love, His Spirit and His truth.
